A Festive Espresso Tonic for Holiday Hosting

Looking for a unique drink to elevate your holiday gatherings? This Blood Orange Mint Espresso Tonic is a refreshing, elegant addition to any celebration. The boldness of freshly brewed espresso pairs beautifully with the tartness of cranberry and the cool hint of mint, creating a festive beverage that’s as delightful to look at as it is to sip.

This espresso tonic offers a creative twist on traditional holiday drinks. The layered flavors and effervescence bring something special to your table, while its vibrant Blood Orange and mint garnishes add a seasonal flair. It’s easy to prepare, making it a host-friendly choice for welcoming guests.

Blood Orange Mint Espresso Tonic Ingredients: 

  • 1 espresso shot (we like to use Single Origin Peru on our Espresso Machine)
  • 1 oz of homemade Blood Orange or Cranberry Syrup
  • 8 oz of Tonic Water
  • Mint for garnish 

Homemade Blood Orange Syrup Ingredients

  • 1 cup of fresh blood orange juice (or swap for Cranberry Juice to give the recipe a holiday twist)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup water

Step 1: Make the Syrup 

  • Combine blood orange juice, sugar and water into a medium size pot and set to medium heat. 
  • Let simmer for about 10 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Let the syrup cool completely and place into a glass jar or container for storing

Step 2: Pull a shot of espresso 

  • If you don’t have an espresso machine, follow this quick recipe to brew a mimic espresso shot. For the best experience, let the espresso shot cool. 

Step 3: Fill cup with ice

Step 4: Combine syrup and tonic water in glass. 

  • Add a splash of Cranberry Juice for a festive twist!

Step 5: Pour espresso shot over the tonic water

Step 6: Garnish with mint, blood oranges, or cranberries and enjoy!
