Midtown Roastery Coffeebar Opens March 24th

Posted by Lauren Taber on

We are proud to announce the Grand Opening of our newest retail location: the Midtown Roastery Coffeebar! Located at 919 20th Street, the new location is an expansion of our existing wholesale, retail, and cafe operations.

Pachamama aims to provide a space that will establish a bridge between the local community and the global coffee community. We will be offering seven single origin organic coffees at all times, and hosting educational and entertainment events throughout the year. It is our goal to provide our neighbors with an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate coffee.

We invite you to join us for a full weekend of events on Saturday, March 24th and Sunday, March 25th. The celebration will include live music, fresh coffee, and opportunities to learn more about all things coffee. Keep reading for the full schedule of events.

Saturday 3/24 7 am: Doors open: First 20 customers get free Pachamama Coffee hats! 10 am: Home Brewing Lesson in our Education Lab 10 am - 2 pm:  Live music from Mariachi Tradicional, Sacramento’s premier Mariachi group. 2 pm: Opening remarks and presentation of the history of Pachamama Coffee Cooperative by co-founder and CEO Thaleon Tremain 4 pm: Coffee Cupping Session in our Education Lab 6 pm - 8 pm: Free coffee, espressos and affogatos! 8 pm: Doors close

Sunday 3/25 7 am: Doors open 11 am: Home Brewing Lesson in our Education Lab 1 pm: Roasting Demonstration in our Roastery 3 pm: Discussion: Gender Equity in the Coffee Supply Chain 5 pm - 7 pm: Film screening: Black Gold featuring Tadesse Meskela 8 pm: Doors close Each of these events were chosen and designed to celebrate not only the opening of a new and unique coffee house, but to honor the work being done by the farmers that own and govern Pachamama Coffee. We know that coffee connoisseurs want to be connected with their producers, and educational events and farm-to-cup samplings are just some of the ways that Pachamama fosters that connection. We hope you will join us for this weekend of celebration. Pachamama Coffee is proud to move forward serving another portion of the Sacramento community. It truly is home for us!

We hope to see you soon!

EDIT: All of us at Pachamama Coffee have been honored and humbled by the buzz that the opening of our Roastery Coffeebar in Midtown has created! To our partners in the press, customers, and social media influencers who have been spreading the word: Muchas Gracias! We couldn't do it without all of you. When taking on a project of this size, one of the philosophies we continually turned to was collaboration. Everybody's input was needed and valued, and the extra work put in by many of our team members was what truly cemented this opening as a labor of love. At the end of the day, Pachamama Coffee is accountable to the coffee producers that comprise our member cooperatives in Peru, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Ethiopia. It is with their industrious and hard working spirit that Pachamama's baristas, managers, and production staff gave of themselves to create a unique space that does justice not only to the quality of the coffee, but to the story behind it as well.
