AeroPress Brew Guide
The AeroPress is a versatile brew method that produces a smooth, balanced cup with a clean finish. With gentle pressure and a short brew time, it brings forward both clarity and body, making it well-suited for a wide range of coffees.
What You’ll Need
- AeroPress
- Paper filter
- Freshly ground coffee
- Kettle
- Scale (recommended)
- Stirrer or spoon
Coffee to Water Ratio
We recommend a 1:16 ratio. 1 gram of coffee per 16ml of water, or if you don't have a scale, use 2tbsp of coffee for every cup of water. Example:
- 17g coffee
- 272g water
This ratio creates a balanced cup with a smooth, integrated profile.
Grind Size
Use a medium-fine grind, similar to table salt.
This allows for proper extraction during the short brew time.
Water Temperature
Heat water to about 200°F (just off boil).
Step-by-Step Instructions for Brewing Coffee with the AeroPress
1. Prepare the AeroPress
Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse it with hot water. Attach the cap to the AeroPress and set it over your cup.
2. Add Coffee

3. Add Water
Start your timer and pour hot water evenly over the grounds, ensuring full saturation.

5. Press
Insert the plunger and press slowly with steady pressure. The full brew and press should take about 1:30 to 2:00 minutes.
