“Pachamama Coffee Cooperative of Small Scale Coffee Producers” incorporates as a California Cooperative Corporation on 11/01/2001.
Farmers organize and draft the cooperative’s bylaws, electing founding President, Raul del Aguila, of COCLA in Peru. The founding members from Peru, Nicaragua and Guatemala purchase the membership shares.
Pachamama Membership expands to Ethiopia and Mexico, with the addition of OCFCU and La Union Regional de Huatusco.
2006: First Sale
Pachamama Coffee sells its first bag of roasted, organic coffee as the first 100% farmer-owned coffee cooperative in North America.

2014: Sacramento Roastery
We open a roastery of our own in the heart of Sacramento, letting us roast and fulfill Certified Organic Coffee in-house.

We celebrate 15 years bringing you organic coffee in the service of our farmers, to create a more equitable and sustainable world.
Over the next 15 years, we plan to expand our farmers ownership to include another 10 producer cooperatives, building a global network of more than 500,000 smallholder farmers in 15 countries around the world.
